Reykjavik's Oldests Street
Excavations in Aðalstræti Street have revealed ruins dating back to the Viking era when the first settlers came to Iceland. In 1752, Treasurer Skuli Magnusson decided it should be a site for various workshops which eventually formed the core of the town.
